Pakistan's Waqar Younis is among the heavy candidates for the job of Australia's bowling coach - Cricket News Roundup – Part 1 – June 06, 2012
Former Pakistan pacer,Waqar Younis, is a serious candidate to take up the job of Australia’s bowling coach in place of Craig McDermod, who left his position after the conclusion of Australia's tour of West Indies.
Waqar, who had a two-year coaching stint with Pakistan, has shown interest in the job after having a break of 10 months from the sport as he relinquished his job with Pakistan on personal grounds, citing health issues.
However, the pacer is now ready to get back on the saddle and take up international coaching once more.
According to some sources, he was interviewed by CA's team performance manager Pat Howard on the matter of coaching for Australia.
Shahid Aslam's continued appointment with the national team is not going down well with many coaches in Pakistan, who feel that he is not qualified for the job and is only with the team because of close ties with Intikhab Alam.
“The PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf should look into this as Aslam is using his close association with Inthikab Alam to keep his place with the national team,” a coach told.
Pakistan’s Danish Kaneria has been cleared of all charges by Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) regarding spot-fixing in a club match this year.
The investigation was triggered after the manager of Karachi Zebras, Saeed Jabbar, insisted that he suspected some players of spot-fixing their match against minnows Peshawar Panthers which they lost in an upset.
Kaneria bowled just four deliveries in the controversial Super Eights Twenty20 match and then walked off the field on the basis of injury.
A statement by the inquiry committee on his clearance from all charges said, “Kaneria was interviewed and also submitted a medical certificate to support his claim. The inquiry committee also spoke to the manager and convinced him that Kaneria is no longer required in the investigations."
Former coach and chief selector Mohsin Khan wants Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to stick with Mohammad Hafeez as the T20 skipper and be patient regarding the outcomes of the matches under his leadership.
He, however, expressed his frustration over the removal of Misbah ul haq, who he believes was the right man for the job.
Waqar Younis Quits After Zimbabwe Tour.

Waqar Younis steps down as national team coach.
It should be noticed that he stepped down from coaching as he excused that he was suggested bed rest.
It should also be kept in mind that Waqar Younis lives in Sydney with his family and even when he was coaching Pakistani national team he came all the way from Sydney to Pakistan only for a few months.
GREED REALLY MAKES A MAN HUNGRY.....
